Laurel graduated from Botanica with her diploma in Western Herbalism in 2019 from Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. She had the time of her life learning about the plants and becoming an herbalist (highly recommend.) She spent a long time thinking about what she wanted to do with her newfound knowledge and passion. She offered advice and herbal remedies to her family and friends. She continued her passion for learning about the plants through workshops, herbal conferences, plant walks, and self-learning at home.

It was always her dream to start a business and be self-employed. She did a lot of self-exploration and prayer, hoping her dreams of becoming an entrepreneur would become clear to her one day. There were attempts and great ideas, but nothing ever stuck. Then a baby came along, and he changed everything!

She had bought tons of skin-healing and nourishing plants to use postpartum for healing. They didn’t end up getting used, and an herbalist never lets good medicine go to waste. She realized that these plants would all make excellent first-aid remedies, since they’re plants that are used traditionally for skin healing. Christmas was coming up, so she resourcefully took all of those herbs and turned them into remedies and made first-aid kits for her family. A couple of people remarked that they were super cool and that she should sell them. A light bulb went off, and it was a Christmas miracle indeed!

The spark that day to start her own business making kits started everything for her. This offering and business is years in the making, not literally, but a continuous building of study, passion, prayer, and a dare to dream! It truly is an answered prayer, and her hope for you are these kits are too.
